What we collect when you request service

If you submit the service request form, we collect the name, phone number, ZIP code and description you enter, your email address if you choose to provide one, whether the property is residential or commercial, and how urgent you have said it is. We use this to respond to your request and to carry out any work you go on to approve.

We also record which page of this site you arrived on, the referring website if there was one, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed. This tells us which pages generate genuine enquiries so we know what is worth writing more of. It is held in your browser for the duration of your visit and is only ever transmitted to us if you submit the form.

Your IP address

When a form is submitted, the connecting IP address is combined with a secret value and stored as a one-way hash. We do not keep the address itself. The hash lets us apply rate limits and investigate spam without retaining information that identifies your connection.

Analytics

This site uses two analytics services, Google Analytics 4 and PostHog. They load when you open a page. Both receive which pages you visit, whether a phone link was tapped, and whether the service request form was started, submitted or failed. PostHog also records clicks and form interactions automatically, and reports JavaScript errors, so that a page or a form breaking is something we find out about rather than something that fails quietly.

Both keep an identifier in your browser’s storage so that several pages viewed in one visit are counted as one visit rather than several. You can remove it by clearing this site’s stored data, and browser settings or extensions that block analytics will stop it being set at all.

Three things we do not do, stated because they are the ones worth asking about. We do not record what you type into the form as an analytics event. Session replay — which would turn your mouse movement, scrolling and typing into a session someone can watch back — is not enabled on this site. And PostHog is not asked to build a stored profile for anonymous visitors, since there is nothing here to sign in to.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. It is handled by the business responding to your enquiry and by the technical services that store the record and deliver our notification email. Where we are required to disclose information by law, we will.

How long we keep it

The retention period for enquiry records is being confirmed and will be stated here before this site is published. It will be a defined period, not “as long as necessary”.

Your choices

• You can ask what we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
• You can decline analytics, and change that decision later.
• You can contact us by phone or through the form without providing an email address.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging electrical work on a property. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes, the updated version will appear on this page. Material changes to how we handle enquiry data will be described rather than quietly substituted.
